About this product
Caraway seeds are small, curved and elongated seeds with a brown colour and visible ridges along their surface. They have a distinctive warm aroma and a flavour that combines earthy, slightly sweet and mildly peppery notes. The characteristic aroma becomes stronger when the seeds are crushed or ground. Caraway is commonly used in breads, baked goods, cheeses, spice blends, vegetable dishes and various traditional culinary preparations. It may also be included in herbal infusions and botanical mixtures. The seeds are generally used whole or ground depending on the application. Their recognizable flavour allows caraway to contribute a distinctive aromatic character even when used alongside other spices. Caraway has a long history of culinary use and remains particularly associated with European, Middle Eastern and North African food traditions.
